Feb. 28, 2025—Carpenter Center science teacher, Rebecca McNair was named a regional winner in the Shell Science Lab Regional Challenge.
The Shell Science Lab Regional Challenge encourages K-12 science teachers who have found innovative ways to deliver quality lab experiences to share their approaches for a chance to win up to $20,000 towards a science laboratory makeover. McNair won a science lab makeover support package valued at $20,000 to fund more resources for the Carpenter Center science program.
As one of 24 regional winners, McNair will advance to the national phase of the competition for the chance to be one of three grand prize winners. The grand prize includes an additional $5,000 of support funds and an all-expense paid trip to the National Science Teaching Association conference in New Orleans.
