Bracket features top teams for 15th annual Cy-Hoops Invitational

Dec. 3, 2024—CFISD basketball coaches have released the finalized bracket for the 15th annual Houston Methodist Cy-Hoops Invitational, to be held Dec. 12-14 at three CFISD high schools and the Berry Center.

The three-day, 24 team tournament is in partnership with underwriter Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital. Premier Sponsors include Cypress Falls High School graduate John Daspit with Daspit Law Firm, Cypress Lakes High School graduate and Sacramento Kings point guard De’Aaron Fox, Spradley Endodontics, Spring Cypress Oral Surgery and Implant Center and Wainwright Dental and Associates.

Proceeds from the tournament will help fund Cy-Fair Educational Foundation scholarships for graduating CFISD seniors.

Cypress Springs and Cypress Ranch high schools will be among the 24 teams to compete in the 15th annual Houston Methodist Cy-Hoops Invitational. Tournament games will be played at Cypress Park, Cypress Woods and Langham Creek high schools and the Berry Center.

Tournament games will be played at the following locations:

·         Cypress Park High School (7425 Westgreen Blvd)

·         Cypress Woods High School (13550 Woods-Spillane Blvd)

·         Langham Creek High School (17610 FM 529)

·         the Berry Center arena (8877 Barker Cypress Road – entrance 2)

·         Jersey Village vs. Mansfield Summit, Cypress Park gym 2

·         Cypress Ridge vs. Fort Bend Marshall, Cypress Woods gym 1

·         Strake Jesuit vs. Waxahachie, Cypress Woods gym 2

·         Bridgeland vs. Austin Westlake, Langham Creek gym 1

·         Cypress Creek vs. Cypress Lakes, Langham Creek gym 2

6:30 p.m

·         Cypress Park vs. Klein Cain, Cypress Park gym 1

·         Cypress Ranch vs. Humble Summer Creek, Cypress Park gym 2

·         Cypress Woods vs. Converse Judson, Cypress Woods gym 1

·         Cypress Springs vs. CE King, Cypress Woods gym 2

·         Langham Creek vs. The Colony, Langham Creek gym 1

·         Cy-Fair vs. Killeen Shoemaker, Langham Creek gym 2

All teams are guaranteed three games and will advance to play throughout the day on Friday, Dec. 13 at Cypress Woods, Langham Creek and the Berry Center. The tournament semifinal are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Berry Center, with the championship game set for 5:30 p.m. The consolation final will follow the championship semifinal.

CFISD’s 12 high school boys’ basketball teams will participate in the tournament. Tickets will be sold for $5 (adults) and $3 (students), with a tournament pass granting access to all games for $10. No cash will be taken and individual ticket links are available for either single-day tickets and tournament passes for both Thursday and Friday, as well as single-day tickets for Saturday.

A clear bag policy is in place for the Berry Center.

Friday Dec. 13 will serve as CFISD Middle School Night at the Berry Center. Any student wearing a school team jersey and accompanied by a parent will be admitted free. Halftime competitions for participants are scheduled for the 6 and 7:30 p.m. games.
